#SourceCode
#SourceCode is a project that we were put in groups of 4-5 people, in those groups there was at least one if not two, Bioinformatics, Biologist, Artist, and a Project manager. In this project we learned how to write a code from scratch, with that code we then analyze DNA in order to determine ancestry and disease susceptibility of the person my group received. In order to find out if our person had any diseases we had to look at the person’s genomes, and find any mutations in the genome, also find their ancestry. The way we choose to show our process and the final result was through an info graphic and code art, the info graphic showed what diseases our person carried. The role I played in this project was, project manager, my job was to make sure we would meet all of our deadlines, and document the process along the way, also if anyone in my group need help I would happily help them out. When I had free time I would work on codecademy, which was our step by step guide on learning to code. The biggest challenge I faced in this project had to be learning how to code. It had to be one of the most interesting but yet difficult things I've ever had to learn how to do, it definitely took the word "specific" to another level. Something that will stick with me still after high school from this project is gonna be to work hard and it might be frustrating and difficult in the beginning but it will be worth it in the end and could possibly turn out to be very fun.
